A hand-moulded brick with style

Vinalmont is a hand-moulded facing brick from the Grigio range of Nelissen Brickworks, made from Löss from Limburg, extracted from the plateau of Kesselt in the Meuse valley. Then it gets upgraded with raw materials from the Volcanic Eifel. The baking process is done in a gas-fired tunnel kiln under a slightly reducing atmosphere. The non-perforated brick is covered with sand on five sides. Vinalmont is provided with a possible oblong sloping groove on one flat side (frog, group 1).

The structure is formed by a rough appearance with fine and irregular grooves in the sandy surface. The pale grey colour of the facing brick is obtained by the homogeneous mixing of an accurately determined proportion of manganese dioxide with loam.
