A classic hand-moulded facing brick with dark nuances
The Old-Gothic is a hand-moulded facing brick of Nelissen Brickworks from the Classico range. The brick has a reddish surface. This brick enjoys the typical outdated view through the wet, unbaked bricks with various admixtures. The used types of sand create a colour palette that rather varies to dark red with white and black deposits on surfaces with red shades. The Old-Gothic is very similar to real recuperation bricks. The hand-moulded bricks of Old-Gothic have a roughed structure and an irregular shape.
The non-perforated facing brick from the Classico range is sanded on five sides and provided with a possible oblong sloping groove on one flat side (frog, group 1). The Old-Gothic has a structure with a rough appearance. Furthermore, this brick has fine and irregular grooves in the sandy surface. The baking process is done in a gas-fired tunnel kiln under a slightly reducing atmosphere. The brick is made from Löss from Limburg. This Löss is extracted by Nelissen Brickworks from the plateau of Kesselt in the Meuse valley. The facing brick is revalued with raw materials from the Volcanic Eifel.
